Book of Remembrance

|
At the time of bereavement
it is natural to quietly remember and express personal feelings. For this
reason a Book of Remembrance has been provided and is on view daily at the
Crematorium displayed in a cabinet in the Chapel of Remembrance. |
It provides an inexpensive
yet lasting form of memorial to those cremated or those whose cremated
remains lie in the The Book, consisting of
several hand made richly bound volumes, contains a
page for each day of the year. |
|
|
|
The
pages are turned daily to allow viewing on the appropriate anniversary. The
inscriptions, which are hand painted by artists, provide a lasting form of
memorial and offer the same degree of permanency as the best examples of
medieval illuminated manuscripts. |
Inscriptions must consist
of 2, 5 or 8 lines only. A floral motif or suitable badge or emblem may
accompany a 5 or 8 line entry. |
